We care about your privacy and handle your data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only the personal data necessary to provide and improve our services. This may include:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number (via WPForms contact forms and the Amelia booking tool)
  • Information related to your tour request, booking, or inquiry
  • If you subscribe: your email address for our newsletter
  • Photos taken during your tour, if you sign a photo waiver/disclaimer
  • Technical data (e.g. IP address) collected automatically for basic website functionality
  • Payment-related data (e.g. name, billing information) which is securely processed by Stripe

We do not store or process credit card numbers ourselves. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe.

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.


3. Why we collect your data

We use your data to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and process bookings
  • Schedule and deliver private tours and related services
  • Manage appointments and customer data through the Amelia booking tool
  • Upload and provide access to tour photo galleries via SmugMug (only for guests who sign a waiver)
  • Process payments securely via Stripe
  • Send updates or exclusive offers (only if you have subscribed to our newsletter)
  • Comply with legal obligations, including accounting and recordkeeping

4. Tour Photography (optional)

If you voluntarily sign our photo waiver/disclaimer before the tour, your photo may be taken during the tour using the guide’s camera.

Photos are:

  • Professionally edited and uploaded to a SmugMug gallery
  • Accessible only to participants of the same tour who also signed the waiver
  • Available for 90 days after the tour for download/viewing
  • Permanently deleted after 90 days unless selected for marketing purposes

The waiver explicitly informs you that selected photos may be used for marketing (e.g. website, social media), but only if you have granted permission by signing the disclaimer.

No photos will be taken, processed, or published without your prior written consent.


5. Newsletter (optional)

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we will occasionally send updates about our services or special offers. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in each email or by contacting us directly.

We do not share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.


6. How long we store your data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill our services and comply with Swiss legal or tax obligations. After that, your data will be securely deleted.

Photos are stored on SmugMug for 90 days and then deleted unless they are used for marketing purposes with your explicit consent.


7. Third-party services

To operate our business and website, we rely on reputable third-party providers, including:

  • Email communication: IONOS
  • Website and hosting services: IONOS
  • Form and booking systems: WPForms and Amelia
  • Photo hosting: SmugMug (for secure delivery of tour images)
  • Payment processing: Stripe (for secure handling of credit card payments)
  • Mapping tools: Google Maps (for viewing directions only)

For payment transactions, we use Stripe, a trusted payment provider. When you make a payment, your payment information is processed directly by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy, provided below. We do not store or have access to your credit card details.

These providers may store data in Switzerland, the EU, or the USA. We ensure that appropriate data protection agreements are in place to safeguard your information.


8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw your consent (e.g. newsletter or photo waiver)
  • Object to certain types of data processing
  • File a complaint with the competent data protection authority

9. Language and validity

This privacy policy is provided in English for convenience.
In case of any discrepancies, the German version shall prevail.
